It's amazing that the body senses and adjusts based on how much of a rest period you need in between. This is the part of labor that makes me the most nervous, but I guess like you said, once you're at that point, you just do it because you have to. It's too bad they took Natalie away from you afterward, but I guess it's definitely good that they were cautious about her health just in case. That is too, too funny about the doctor getting so confused about the gender, too! I think it's good that you're talking about the pain and experience afterward, as well, because I never seem to read as much about that part. Now that you know she's a girl, I'm sure you can't imagine it any other way. Unless of course you're still itching for a boy one day :-P

I was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck as well. Scary but it happens.

Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671033201713645542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-44355526497853579412013-12-12T17:16:16.504-05:002013-12-12T17:16:16.504-05:00Great second part of your birth story. I hope that your feeling better. I think that it's awesome you waited to find out what you were having. That is a great surprise after all of the hours of labor. I love all of the pictures :) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-69708482496333968222013-12-12T16:17:08.391-05:002013-12-12T16:17:08.391-05:00I felt the same about not wanting to leave the hos...I felt the same about not wanting to leave the hospital. I liked being about just lay in bed and not worry about a dirty house or laundry or cooking, not to mention having nurses to help with the baby. Next time I'm sure it will be different, if I have another, because I will miss Hunter and want to get home to him.

That's funny about them telling you the wrong sex. I'm still surprised you didn't have a boy. I had two nurses help me to the bathroom because my left leg was still numb from the knee up hours after my epidural was turned off. They think I had a pinched nerve from my husband holding it in the same position and bending me in half! I have no idea what all happened after James was placed on me. They worked on my really quick and when they left I was surprised! I was asking what all had happened because no one really told me anything. We were in the hospital for 4 days total and we couldn't wait to get our boy home but it's a strange thing leaving with a baby. Question when you get a chance- did you and Chris have names picked out? How did you arrive at Natalie? I think I would totally feel like the "what, you just left me with this baby?!?!" What a scary feeling but it seems you have survived just fine! I feel lied to....
In Ontario they actually check your car seat before you leave the hospital to ensure that it's properly installed. So I have heard my pregnant friends talking about how early they have to get the car seat and make sure it's in the car in case the baby comes early or else the hospital won't let them leave with their baby!Kaileighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13379433068176698670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-11937860800759502642013-12-12T06:09:08.786-05:002013-12-12T06:09:08.786-05:00"They just let us leave with a baby?" L..."They just let us leave with a baby?" LOL funny. I remember that feeling. It's overwhelming to think about this little creature that you and your husband made who is TOTALLY dependent on you. The other LOL funny is "Will the balloon I attached to her car-seat kill her?" You will never stop asking yourself those kinds of questions except the content changes as she get a little older-especially when she starts dating. I can just picture Chris driving 20 mph on the way home. He is so cute with her. Great post.Grandmanoreply@blogger.com
