It hurt way less than the flu shot! When I got it after M was born, they put it directly in my IV so I didn't even feel anything.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-42180502390981657892013-09-05T12:57:01.909-04:002013-09-05T12:57:01.909-04:00Hello my A- sister!! I had always heard of people getting this shot when pregnant but never really took the time to understand why!

This makes me wonder what type of blood I have. I must go search for my baby book! lol!

I think you made the right decision in taking it. Best to just go through with it, especially if there are minimal side effects for you from the needle.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11250518563305684519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-77853699796441850352013-09-04T14:51:24.254-04:002013-09-04T14:51:24.254-04:00The shot was a breeze and, like most things, I thi...The shot was a breeze and, like most things, I think I made a bigger deal out of it than need be. I just tend to question all things in the medical world before blinding succumbing to whatever the doctor's say...but in this case, I'm glad I got it.Laura https://www.blogger.com/profile/14999684457315081240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-37412624383182765292013-09-04T14:49:50.744-04:002013-09-04T14:49:50.744-04:00My sister and I were the same way - I'm negati...My sister and I were the same way - I'm negative blood so my mom didn't need a shot after labor. However, she took the shot at 28 weeks and again after labor with my sister who has positive blood. She decided to take the 28 week shot for her second pregnancy because the statistical chances of something happening in the womb during pregnancy increase with each pregnancy, so it was good to take that extra precaution. so crazy to think that this shot never existed until about 40 some years ago - and so many women miscarried or had issues without even realizing it was their own blood rejecting their baby!Laura https://www.blogger.com/profile/14999684457315081240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-3843374815832312192013-09-04T14:45:43.585-04:002013-09-04T14:45:43.585-04:00Yea, I had never heard of the card thing either!It...Yea, I had never heard of the card thing either! It is very interesting what they can test for these days -it's great and scary all at the same time!Laura https://www.blogger.com/profile/14999684457315081240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1301052227457633543.post-59625613935064555572013-09-04T12:40:10.527-04:002013-09-04T12:40:10.527-04:00I have negative blood, too, and so does my mom. When we went through all of our fertility stuff I found out about a few things such as my blood type (I'm O+) and I'm a carrier for cystic fibrosis. In California they test for that and since I'm a carrier my husband had to be tested also. He's not but I just find it interesting that they test for so many things! I'm amazed you and Sister turned out okay with all the hype about EVERYTHING during pregnancy! So your insurance will not cover your shot but will cover your breast pump? What's up with that? Love the card suggestion. How about "I'm sorry your attitude and your RH Factor are the same!" LOL!Momnoreply@blogger.com
