Long Island Children's Museum and Nunley's Carousel

On Sunday we went to the Long Island Children's Museum with our friends Dana, Samantha and Jack. It was a rainy day in January, so yes, this place was packed. But I expected that, and we still made great use of the exhibits. Dinosaurs, Bubbles, climbing, video newsroom, building blocks, etc. It's not a huge place, but it provides plenty of activities to keep little ones busy for a day, or afternoon. The toddler room there is quite popular, and because of that, they have to schedule times for it, and limit the amount of time you can spend in there. We were able to get into a few sessions, but each session is only about 20 minutes, so getting the kids to clear the room so quickly did NOT go over well, and the two babies JUST wanted to be in that room, nowhere else. So, that was a little bit challenging - especially for Dana who was juggling two kids on her own. Despite that, I enjoy our yearly winter sojourn to this museum, (Last time we went was two years ago and I was pregnant with Christopher) and may venture there again this summer to check out their outdoor garden area.

You can't go to the children's museum and NOT ride the indoor Nunley's Historic Carousel right next door to it. It's $2 to ride per person, and it's a nice long ride - not some 30 second ride that I sometimes feel happens at parks and carnivals.

Christopher didn't really know what to make of it, but I think with big sister by his side having a great time and me just constantly saying "WEEEEEE!" over and over again to show him how fun it was, he handled it well...I don't think he was chomping at the bit to go back on, but he tolerated it just fine.

Natalie, on the other hand, had a blast....
