Downton Abbey

Carnival Films

In two weeks, Chris and I successfully managed to watch the entire first three seasons of Downton Abbey.

Am I proud? sort of.
Am I embarrassed? sot of.

That's a lot of television.....like over 30 hours worth of television. But seriously, it was SO.GOOD.

Though the big surprise ending at the end of the 3rd season was ruined to me thanks to an innocent google search, I do hope that the show continues to be good in its upcoming seasons - I'm a little worried by this most recent turn of events in the plot line, but we shall see.

If you watch Downton Abbey, you might get the humor in these two things:
If Downton Abbey took place entirely on Facebook.
They do a "recap" of every episode, each one funnier than the last.

My friend, Mandy, sent me this video of the cast performing One Direction's What Makes you Beautiful.

Are you a Downton Abbey fan?
The next show we are going to start is either The Walking Dead or True Blood, and suggestions?

  1. OMG. Kenny and I finished last night. I think we probably did all 3 seasons in about 3 weeks, too. We're suuuuupppperrrr cool, just like you guys :)We must discuss. I have experienced mental trauma at the hands of a television show.

In related news, I saw a facebook post about the season 3 finale about 2 weeks ago. Luckily, I couldn't remember at that point who was who, but that was one of THREE in the past week that had given spoilers on facebook. Irritating. Come on, people, have some social responsibility....

  3. I LOVE Downton Abbey! It's so good and I can't wait for season 4. My husband loves The Walking Dead but I can't stand anything having to do with zombies ::shudder::

  4. I have never seen this show, but I have been hearing so much about it. I might have to check it out. And don't feel bad about watching that much TV. I started re watching Gilmore Girls two weeks ago and I am already on Season 5. So I am right there with you.

  5. I haven't ever watched Downtown Abbey, but I know a lot of people who love it. I always feel like there's just not enough time in the day for me to read/watch/write everything I'd like to!

  7. Well I'm...FLABBERGASTED!!! Just had to use that word after seeing the video. :-) I've never seen Downton Abbey but it sure gets a lot of media attention for being good. Maybe I'll watch it over the summer.

  8. It's winter! It's the best time of the year to catch up on TV. And I loooove Downton! I can't wait for it to come back already! My husband loves the Walking Dead, but it's a little too scary/creepy for me. We both really like True Blood, though sometimes you get a bit bored by certain characters' storylines. Kind of like Bates in jail on Downton!!
