Sum-sum suma time

We are loving these summer days so far! Yesterday we went to a puppet show in the park with some friends:

Then afterward, played on the playground and in the water sprayers:

We can't wait for more fun days in the park this summer!

New Jersey mini-vacay

We visited our friends Kenny and Christina in New Jersey this past weekend. It was a quick trip, but oh so worth it. We spent Saturday at an Amish Farmer's Market near there house for lunch, and then drove out to the zoo in Cape May!

Natalie made a new best friend in their dog, Stout, who pretty much gave her a bath with all his licks.

We grilled pizzas, drank beers (the adults, of course), played with bubble wands, and enjoyed the outdoors!

And then endured a 4 1/2 hour drive home on Sunday, in what should have been a 2 1/2 hour drive...God I love New York....

We always have a good time with Kenny and Christina and I am so glad, that even with a little one, we are still able to keep up our yearly visits!

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals + Giveaway

Last month, I was contacted about the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a company I knew nothing about until now.

Whether they suffer from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. To show support for the organization and the one in 10 kids in North America who are treated by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year, Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 in the month of June. This month, by purchasing products like Pampers Swaddlers at your local Walmart, portions of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
The infographic above speaks for itself, but additionally:

Support of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals helps provide 32 million patient visits for 10  million kids every year

One in 10 kids in North America is treated by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year

Every day, member hospitals treat 16,000 children in emergency rooms

Every hour, member hospitals provide surgery for 97 children

U.S. members hospitals provided $3.4 billion in charity care in 2012

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has helped children like Grayson, who shares his story below:

Pennsylvania – Grayson
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Brain Stem Tumor and Lawnmower Accident
Age 4 (as of 11/30/14)

When Katy Perry belts out the lyric, “I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar!” Grayson can’t help but sing along with her. He loves her song “Roar” and can certainly relate to it.

When Grayson was only 2 years old, he started complaining the room was spinning. Fast forward several weeks to his diagnosis: an inoperable brain tumor and the start of chemotherapy to shrink or maintain the tumor’s size. Less than a year later, Grayson suffered from another devastating injury: he was in a lawnmower accident that resulted in the loss of four toes and partial amputation of his foot.

Praised for his optimistic attitude, Grayson hasn’t let these traumatic events get him down. He thinks of himself as the comic book character Iron Man, and lovingly refers to his primary oncologist as Dr. Octopus. Just like Iron Man, Grayson has turned his own medical challenge into an opportunity to fight back.

If this is an organization you could get behind, visit for more information and to make your own donation today! I am so lucky that, so far, Natalie has had a healthy journey in life, and I never take that for granted. But I know that not everyone is that lucky, and that there are children who are suffering from various illness, conditions, ailments, accidents, in hospitals all across America every day.

Do you or anyone you know have a personal journey with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals? If not, how has Grayson's story touched you?

Natalie Claire 12-18 Months

It's summer!!! Ok, so I feel like our house is somewhat semi in-order, and I can hopefully share a little house update soon. Even though we still have workers here almost every day, and I still have some more decisions/things to figure out with the house, as a whole it is looking great and things are really shaping up!

I am so excited for this summer with Natalie. I feel like I can actually do fun things with her and take her fun places.

Here's a little recap of what Natalie's been up to for the past 6 months, and I plan to do a lot of updating on all the fun things we have planned this summer!
