Month 4 in pictures

Another month older, another month of pictures (over 1,000 pictures in fact)

I wore you facing out in the k'tan sling in the mornings while I made breakfast - it wasn't the sturdiest way of holding you, I'm not entirely sure if it's made for this way, but it took a little bit of the weight off of my arms and you loved to look around!
Uncle Michael visited!
You still hang out with me on the table while I do work
You visited Daddy's office! (You were a hit...of course)

You pooped yourself...a lot, and very often. For two weeks, this was pretty much the scene every other day:

We went out to lunch with Oma at my new favorite restaurant, DeeDee's!!

You started eating rice cereal! (every other day for two weeks - more on this Monday morning!)
You continued to enjoy your piano lessons.
 You LOVE oatmeal!

We went on many, many walks and enjoyed your new hand crocheted hat from Aunt Kerry!
 You like to look cute...
I dressed you like a polar bear on cold days:
You love The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and The Wheels on the Bus with Oma
And time with Great-Grandma, or Gigi!
We had our first ever play-date with Lily and her mom, Lauren. This was quite a glimpse into my future!

And you also look way cool in your cool new shades we got to protect your pretty blue eyes.
You like to be a big girl and try to hold your own bottle!

Your hands are so tiny ;)

We had two successful visits to Pennsylvania, visiting with family and friends:

You met your Great-Grandparents. They would have loved you :(
You looked beautiful in your Easter Dress from Aunt Mallory and Uncle Eric!
But you found Easter to be exhausting.
Something happened this month where we really caught our stride. They say the first 3 months is the "Fourth trimester" and I think they're right. Once we got through those first 3 months: learning to read each other, Chris and I learning how we work as parents with a baby, and Natalie learning to function in this world; once we got through that, it was like a veil was lifted off of us. At 4 months, I felt more confident to take her places, I felt more confident breastfeeding, and breastfeeding with the cover in public (depending on the place). She was way more pleasant, and easy to distract if she got cranky. In short: everything just felt easier and natural! I think I'm getting the hang of this "mommy" thing.

  1. Congratulations to all of you for "finding your stride." It's a good feeling when your confidence as a parent surges. And you all look so beautiful as a family!

  3. She is such a little cutie!!! Those eyes are to die for! I think Jeanette will have brown eyes like her dad, I was hoping that she got my green eyes. I'm so excited to start on cereal and oatmeal at the end of this month. I'm glad to hear that things get a little easier by the 4th month, I still get a little nervous taking her out and I'd like to start doing more things now that the weather is finally nice!

  4. Aw, such cute pictures! Natalie gets cuter all the time! That picture of her meeting your grandparents is so bittersweet. I feel sad every time I think that my kids won't get to meet my grandparents, which was something I always wanted.

    1. I know, it's so sad, but it is what it is. It's up to us to tell our babes all about their amazing great-grandparents.
