Weekend Wedding in Salem Part 1

As I mentioned last week, we spent a beautiful Fall weekend in Salem Massachusetts for a friend's wedding two weekends ago. We stayed at the beautiful Salem Waterfront Hotel, which is also where the wedding was held - totally convenient by the way!

We arrived in Salem on Friday with our friends, Chris and Corinne. We grabbed some pizza and then headed over to take a tour of Salem. Unfortunately, it started to downpour about 5 minutes into our tour, and the guide was kind enough to let us meet him for a tour the following day instead.

On Friday night, Chris and Corinne were at the rehearsal dinner, so Chris and I enjoyed a really delicious dinner at 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar. This was basically an Italian Tapas restaurant, in which they served small plates of different Italian dishes, and I totally dug it. It was so great to order a couple different small plates of pasta so we got to try a bunch of different things! We tried gnocchi, tagliatelle, ravioli, fried zucchini blossoms and fried risotto balls! We were stuffed, but certainly got to try an array of things!

On Saturday, we went back to take our Bewitched in Salem tour which covered all the key places of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. We brought along some other friends, Kerry and Kate, who arrived in Salem late the night before. The 5 of us were the only ones on the tour...private tour score!! Jeff, our tour guide, was very interesting to listen to and very informative.

We hugged the oldest tree in Salem:
After the tour, we went back to our hotel to rest up and get ready for the wedding that evening. The ceremony was at St. James Parish and was a beautiful church.

Meg looked gorgeous! Both her and Juan looked so happy and excited. Juan's dad is a Deacon so this ceremony was performed by both the pastor and Juan's father. It was really neat to watch a father do the honors of marrying his son and now daughter-in-law.

On Wednesday: I'll recap the reception in which I, the pregnant lady, danced the night away!
