Bumpdate: 32 Weeks

How Far Along: 32 Weeks!I love this picture for many reasons: It shows how short my mom is ;), how large my belly is, and how cute we are together!

Baby is the size of: A jicama, what the heck is that?

Total Weight Gain: 28 pounds!!! Methinks I may be indulging too much? My prediction is I will gain 35 pounds when all is said and done through this pregnancy. Let me tell you....there's nothing like getting pregnant to make you finally appreciate the weight you were at pre-pregnancy:

Sleep: Getting up in the middle of the night is painfullll because I have to pee so bad. I'm waking up earlier and earlier and having more trouble falling back to sleep.

Best Moment of the Week:
*32 Week doctor appointment. Baby's heartbeat was in the 150's and everything looked good.

*My shower! More updates tomorrow!

Worst Moment of the Week:
*Tuesday and Friday! I felt like the baby was literally trying to bust out of my stomach. I guess maybe I over-ate at lunch? Or whatever I did eat didn't sit well with me. I kept asking Chris if he could just hold my stomach for 2 hours cause it just felt so. heavy. S/He was pressing so hard up against my stomach, I couldn't even poke my stomach or anything, it was like a rock: No give to it whatsoever, it was like carrying around a brick wall.

Miss Anything: Moving quickly, getting out of bed easily. Bending, etc. etc.

Food Cravings: Nothing specific - pizza?

Anything make you queasy or sick: Nope!

Have you started to show?

Gender: Team Green, but we finnaaally did the Chinese Gender Prediction chart, which tracks gender based on age and the month in which you conceive. In my case: 28 years old and March = BOY, yet another sign.

Symptoms: 90% of all the baby's movements literally make me stop in my tracks. Movements are CRAZY big now. Chris is feeling movement every night, and we can feel full on limbs. I was playing with an arm or a leg last night and it kicked/punched me back really hard...it's the weiiiirrrdddest thing!

*Leg Cramps, especially in the morning!

Workouts: Just some walks with the Puppy!

Mood: Very happy and loved :) and...as you can see here...tired.

Looking forward to:  A three day weekend ahead when we can really dive into all our gifts and start getting things set up. Getting our crib next week!

Maternity Clothes: Absolutely

Stretchmarks: Yea, still using BioOil every day.

Rings on or off? Engagement ring off, wedding band on (but getttting tight!)

Bellybutton in or out? ehhh half in, half out! It looks really weird!
My sister and the belly

* Started writing out my birth plan
* Started creating a hospital packing list

  1. A jicama is a vegetable from Mexico (I think) that looks much like a potato but does not taste like one. 35 pounds is good-I gained 40 with both of you and lost it all both times (pretty sure I found it in the subsequent years HaHa). A birthing plan? Never heard of such a thing. That picture of the two of us is awesome and I love the bond it captures. And I must say again-with complete objectivity-Dahling! You look MAH-VE-LOUS!

    1. well...I may gain 40 - I wouldn't be surprised, and you said I'm carrying just like you did. I love the picture too! And thank you dahling!

  3. Looking good!!! I can't wait to hear about the baby shower, I am getting so anxious for both of mine! The Chinese gender calendar said we were having a boy too but turned out to be a girl. I've also heard that girls are more active and it sounds like your baby is super active! I wish I could have taken the suspense of not knowing!

    1. I didn't think I'd be able to handle the suspense...but I have to say it has added a bit of an extra layer of excitement not knowing. I will be so interested to see if all these "old wives tales" and also if my good old mother's instincts are right or not!

  4. Hey there, your looking great but I know all about feeling it...the waking up in the morning and having a hard time getting out of bed...your not alone...but you still look great with your baby bump!!! Love the picture of you and your mom, how cute. Are you guys able to finding out what your having and decided to wait to be surprised?

I can't wait to see pictures and read about your baby shower!!!

    1. This morning, I think I literally pulled a muscle trying to get out of bed - it hurt so bad! Yes - we are totally able to find out the gender if we wanted to, but decided not to find out until the baby comes.

I can't wait to share about my baby shower....I just gotta get crackin' on the post! So much to do!

  5. I love that first picture too. It's adorable! I just started getting leg cramps. I have resorted to couch sleeping. I work up today in the strangest position but whatever works these days!!!

    1. I don't think I'd be comfortable on my couch...but I know a lot of women do when they're pregnant. I guess it prob. props you up real nice - do you have a body pillow? My boppy has been a God-send!

  6. You still look great! Sleep is just one of those things that I think is going to get worse until the baby arrives. I would rather be up with a newborn than tossing and turning and being in pain all night! We still have a few things on our registry to get but only a couple that we'll need right away. Our completion coupon doesn't expire until January so I think we might wait on certain things to see if we really need/want them!

    1. I agree - I think being up with a baby will have a totally different feel than being up and just not able to fall back asleep. I def. wouldn't have set up a consultation at BBB at this point, but I was contacted through my blog to have a consultation if I blog about it and I'll get a $25 gift card so I was like "Sign me up!"

  7. I have a friend who think the Chinese gender predictor is like the word of God. In fact, when she was trying for her second, her and her husband only tried on "boy" months. I'm interested to see what you are having!

    1. Did your friend end up having a boy following the chart?! I am so interested to see if it's right as well!

  8. I've been saying boy for you forever :) And I love your mom's comments - they always make me smile!

    1. awww she will be so happy to read this. It's very important to her that she's the first commenter every morning ;) Only a few more weeks to find out if we're all right with the "boy" guess!

  9. Hi Laura, I say boy... As long as it's heathy...

  10. I love that picture of you and your mom! I've always wondered how accurate those Chinese Gender Prediction charts actually are.

    1. Thanks, I love it too!!! I know..for every person I hear that swears by it and says it's never wrong, there's another person who says it wasn't right. So who knows. So far...pretty much every single "old wives tale" or "gender prediction" thing I've done has said boy!

  11. You are looking fab!! Don't worry about those numbers on the scale!! I have already gained all that they wanted me to but was told its all belly so they aren't worried about it.

    1. Yea..I'm not too worried about it. I know that it's just the way it is...but a part of me does wonder sometimes how much is "me" just gaining because I"m not really watching what I eat and how much is "legitimate baby weight" Just more-so curious, but it doesn't really matter. I know I'll be diligent after the baby and get back on track (well....after the Holidays...haha)

  13. If I remember correctly the Chinese chart was the only old wives tale that was accurate, the rest said girl and obviously were wrong. I think you are having a boy.

    1. Hmm very interesting...I think we are having a boy too!

  14. Not sure if you tried this before but in my family we do the gender test by attacking a needle with a thread in a pencil and dangle the pencil over the wrist. It has been spot on 99% of the time for us!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. OHH i'll try that! I did the wedding ring on a string over the belly and that said boy, but I didn't try a pencil over the wrist! I shall report back!

  15. Attaching not attacking, lol! Also you don't look like you've gained 20+ pounds. Seems like it's all belly. You'll bounce back quick!

  16. You look great! And I am so glad that you had such a great weekend with your shower. I can't believe how quickly this seems to be flying by, sheesh! And with the Chinese Gender chart, some people that I know have been 100% accurate and with others, not so much. So who knows, haha! I still think you are having a girl! Hope you are having a great week so far!

    1. Yea it def. is flying by, but I"m starting to get to that "okkkkaaaayyy this is really uncomfortable" stage so I think I'm ok with it going fast now!

  17. You're looking so good!! And I love your shower dress. Haha, and there apparently are a million ways to try and guess the gender of the baby!!

    1. Thanks! That was the first dress I put on at Destination Maternity and I loved it! There really are - and for every person who swears that one way is always accurate, there's another person saying it's not accurate at all!
