Bumpdate: 35 Weeks

How Far Along: 35 Weeks!

Baby is the size of: A honeydew melon

Total Weight Gain: 31 pounds

Sleep: Actually pretty good this week! The beds at the hotel in Pennsylvania for my friend's wedding were waaayyy too soft for me. Luckily, I was so incredibly exhausted after the wedding that it wasn't too bad, and I was able to sleep pretty well. Still very reliant on my snoogle!

Best Moment of the week:
*My friend's wedding! It was a LONG day, and I definitely did take notice of my my swelling feet and legs by the end of the night...but I did it! I made it through all the wedding festivities including the after-party AND was still able to do my split on the dance floor when I was introduced at the reception. All in all, I'd say it was a success, and I can't wait to share more details about the day with you later this week.

*Got this little gem in the mail from Ariane, my good friend at WeddingMix! Thanks Ariane! We'll have this baby sleeping like a champ in no time!

My glider/recliner for the nursery arrived!! It is so incredibly comfortable and I love it!! Thank you to my in-laws for the chair! I can already picture the many nursing sessions, bedtime stories, and cuddle sessions that will take place in this chair!
The pillow-case on the chair was purchased on Etsy from Nest 2 Impress. I just have to get a pillow form for it!

Worst Moment of the Week:
*That time that I made my lunches for the whole week on Sunday so that it was all prepared, and then I dropped one as I was putting it into the fridge and lost an entire lunch to the glass shards of my pyrex dish and a dirty floor. I sat on the floor holding Zoey and crying while Chris cleaned it up....what was that I said last week about not being hormonal?

*Really intense gas pains on my way home from work on Wednesday. I literally thought my intestines were going to burst. I thought for a brief moment that perhaps I was passing a kidney stone and I also contemplated getting off the subway and finding the nearest hospital. It hurt so. bad. Luckily once I started walking and got some fresh air, I felt much better.

Miss Anything: Red Wine

Food Cravings: Dark Chocolate

Anything make you queasy or sick: No..but I'm getting fuller faster

Have you started to show? So silly:

Gender: Team Green! Still thinking boy - HOWEVER, I've now started to think that it might be a girl, simply because I've been so adamant that it's a boy, it would just make sense that it's actually a girl. I'm really torn on what I actually think it is.

Symptoms:
Scratch rash on my legs- at least I hope it's a rash from scratching. I will ask the doctor about this on Friday. The itchiness isn't as bad (I'm putting cocoa butter on my legs morning and night) but they definitely look busted.

Swelling in hands and legs - Trying to put my feet up more after work, my ring is getting tighter and tighter.

Lots of crazy kicks, movements and hiccups. We can feel full-on limbs now. I felt what I think was a foot the other day and it kicked back at me!

Workouts: Yoga again!! Yay! Walks with Zoey

Mood: I'm finding myself being more and more blasé about things. Like kind of taking a "whatever...I don't care" approach to decisions that we've been trying to make. Not in a disgusted way but in a "I really don't have the energy to think about this or that anymore" or "You know what...if the nursery isn't done on time...I don't care" type thing. I don't have the energy to get too worked up over much - except for a spilled lunch on my kitchen floor, obviously. Because wasting food is a crime! Plus, I really liked that glass pyrex dish.

Looking forward to: Our lamaze class on Saturday!! There, we will tour the hospital. Then we are attending a registry completion event on Sunday morning where we're going to exchange/buy all last minute items we need. And installing the car seat into my car this weekend!

Maternity Clothes: Special thanks to Kerry for dropping off a maternity wool coat for me last week! She saw my post saying that as long as it doesn't get really cold, I would try to hold out buying a coat - but now I have this lovely coat for the last cold month! I don't have a picture of its beautiful-ness, will try to post next week!

Stretchmarks: Yes, but no new ones and only on my sides. I've been pleasantly surprised with how "not bad" they are.

Rings on or off? Engagement ring off, wedding band on

Bellybutton in or out? In the words of Heidi Klum on Project Runway: You're OUT

This week I:
*Continued working on my Baby Shower Thank You's.
*Ordered some more decor for the nursery
*Decided on a pediatrician - we are just going with one that we liked that's close to our house. If we feel the need to switch to a different place after a few visits with him, we know where we would switch to, should we feel so inclined. I hate to take such a blasé approach to this decision, but see "mood" from earlier to explain this. Picking a pediatrician is hard...they all seem "nice" and how the heck do you know?!

Reading: Still reading the Paris Wife - this has been a slow read for me.

Milestones: Kidneys are fully developed now and the liver can process some waste products. Basic physical development is now mostly complete. The main job over the next few weeks is to put on weight. Fetal Brain development if moving at a mind-boggling pace. Weighs about 5.5 pounds

  1. This is a great post, Laura but I have to admit I was a little disappointed in no picture of you doing a full spilt at the wedding reception. Lol! Aww...you're coming down to the wire here. And that kick you got from Little Italy-that's called karma for when you kicked me and I reared back against the wall because it was so forceful. I am full of joy and anticipation right now as I am sure you and Chris are.

  2. I probably would have cried if I dropped my lunch too, and I'm not pregnant!
That's crazy that you can still do the splits. I bet everyone at the wedding didn't see that coming!

    1. Haha! I probably would have cried pregnant or not pregnant too...wasting food is just blasphemy! No, I don't think anyone saw it coming cause I waddled in holding my back and acting really really pregnant. My friend said that everyone's face when I went into the split was priceless!

  3. I have had several food related meltdowns since I've been pregnant including making an apple pie and using cumin instead of cinnamon......I cried for 2 hours after that one! I can't believe you're at 35 weeks already, so exciting!!!!

    1. I agree..as long as it's healthy I'm fine...but we shall see. I'm starting to think girl too but I think that's just so I mentally prepare myself for that possibility since I've spent the past 9 months thinking "boy" Plus...I like our girl name a whole lot more ;)

    2. Awwww!!!! Did u pick out boy and girl name??????

    3. Yep we've picked out both but our lips are sealed ;)

  5. You look great in that bridesmaid dress! The baby probably had it's own party in there with all those movements and food, lol.

I keep thinking you're gonna have a girl too, because of being so convinced it's a boy. It almost feels like waiting to hear the results for American Idol! Are you any closer to name choices for each gender?

    1. Oh yea..the baby was prob. just as exhausted as I was...it def. got tossled around all day long! Haha I enjoyed that American Idol comparison - It would be cool if the arrival and gender of my child was a matter of national debate and votes.

Yes! We have two possible boy names, and we are going to make a game-time decision once we see the baby. We have One girl name and two middle names to go with it. the middle names we are still deciding and/or a game-time decision will be made!

  6. You look great! I'm so impressed you made it through the wedding at 35 weeks. I was in my sister's wedding at 20 weeks and after being in heels all day I was DONE. Gotta love the hormonal meltdowns. I had one last week when Dylan went into his man room and I cried because he wasn't near me. True story. I've been a bit needy and I think it's because we're down to the last couple of weeks of it just being us two! I LOVE that pillow case cover! I've been debating on ordering one from that shop but I haven't been able to decide what I want. Have fun with your hospital tour! I loved when we got to tour ours!

    1. My whole pregnancy I've been gearing up for this wedding..kind of thinking "ok..if I can just make it through Mal's wedding...it's smooth sailing after that" so I just rallied through and made sure to rest when I could throughout the day. It was worth it!

Yea, we kept saying that this weekend: "This is one of our last weekends just us" or we are cuddling extra with Zoey right now because we know her world is about to be rocked to its core. Haha. Nest 2 Impress on Etsy was great to work with. She got me my order in a very timely manner, I can't wait to get it onto a pillow form, I think it's so stinkin' cute!

  7. Oh my gosh you are getting so close! And your dress looked amazing on you! So cute! Sorry about your Pyrex dish. I hate when stuff like that happens. And that is awesome that someone brought you a coat. What an awesome friend! Have a great rest of your week!

    1. I know, next week I'm considered full term and anything goes!! So crazy!! Thanks, I was so nervous about the bridesmaid dress but it ended up being great - even though it was a slightly different style than the other girls.

Yea Kerry is a great friend, I was so relieved to have at least have a coat on hand in case it gets really really cold in the next few weeks!

  8. You look great and looked fabulous for the wedding! It's awesome that you were still able to do your split! I can totally understand how at this point, you would just want to take a "whatever" attitude about certain things, since there are so many things requiring your attention and energy. I only hope I can do as great a job as you have with making well-researched and conscientious decisions when I have a baby. Your pregnancy posts have been so inspiring and make me feel that maybe I, too, could survive this "having a baby" experience. :)

  10. You look so terrific! Read up on that Babywise thing... that was something we had absolutely no use for. If you research it, you will find out why.

  11. You look amazing! I am almost 30 weeks pregnant and have gained 15 pounds so far and the doctor yelled at me so bad telling me I need to go and lose weight and I shouldn't be gaining anymore weight at all. It sucks.
Anyway, on a happier note, I see you don't know what the gender is! We are not finding out either what we are having. I'm really excited to know what the baby will be. I'm secretly hoping for a girl. We already have one girl and one boy, so it will be fun to see who is going to be out numbered here!
